Cancer

You see that girl,
The one who always looks tired.
Her clock is running out,
"Why?" You ask.

She's dying,
Every night she checks her calender.
"You'll be okay"
They keep saying.

It's all just a lie,
She'll never be okay.
The chemo has drained her,
She's only a girl.

What has this life became?
Nothing with importance.
Hush little girl,
You'll have your sleep soon.

I'll hold you close,
The feeling of soft skin under my touch.
Faded skin,
Once so beautiful.

She's going to be alright,
Her family hopes.
Agony takes over her body,
She begs for death to take her.

He won't though,
Little girl, your misery won't last too much longer.
Just let me hold you close,
For our last few months left with one another.

Don't leave ,
You're still so young.
She cries her self to sleep at night,
Never appreciating this life.

Her clock has ran out,
She's still smiling though.
Her agony is gone,
She can run her dainty fingers through her hair again.
