The End of Her Twilight

Drifting to sleep for the final time
Her heart pounding out it's dying rhyme
Heaving breath, laboured gasps
The screaming's stopped but the fire still grasps
Turning her insides to ice cold stone
Living forever but not alone
He's right there beside her, kissing her again
He's wishing she could give him her pain
Not long now, before her final breath
Never thought she'd volunteer for death
But now as her heartbeats slowly fade
She joins him in a never ending charade
Eternity in heaven, with an angel by her side
Her smile returns as he watches her die
