Phoenix Tale

I traveled far and wide for adventure
‘till a cave I happened upon while visiting a lake.
In that dark abyss I had to venture,
For my promise of excitement not to break.

An avalanche had almost buried me
And in flight I destroyed a bird’s nest.
No amount of begging would I be free
For it belonged to a phoenix with zest!

But with my power of magic
That lovely bird fell dead!
It was really quite tragic,
Until it grew from its ashes and fled.

You think my tall tale’s a lie?
When you pass the cave one day, stop by.
