Don't Throw Your Life Away

I saw her crumbling
I saw her breaking
I saw her shattering
I saw her aching.

I saw the tears she tried to hide,
Flowing down her make-up stained face.
I saw the scars she kept away from prying eyes
Who would only ask her 'bout her worst days.

Who would've known she was that close to crumbling,
That close to breaking,
That close to shattering,
'Cause she hid her aching.

Who knew one swipe would be all it would take,
To steal her beautiful life from our own?
Who knew a couple of pills would be all it took
To throw away a life that was never truly owned.

I saw glimpses of the real her.
The her she hid from the rest of us.
Her caring side, her loving side,
hid her breaking side so we wouldn't cause any fuss.

Who knew she would fall,
That she would crumble,
That she would break,
That she would shatter.

Such a beautiful life wasted
Because of things she repressed.
And a message to all readers here,
YOU ARE ALL TRULY BLESSED.

Don't hurt yourself for people who don't care for you.
They aren't worth the time of day.
Every life is beautiful, including yours.
So don't let them win. Don't throw your life away.
