We inhale, ingest, inject

just for a peace of mind.

We’re abusing our flesh

and tearing up our insides

just to feel okay again.

We’re handing our bodies away.

Like free samples at the mall.

People told us we were worthless.

So worthless we became.

And we threw ourselves away

cause we believed it’ll make us whole again.

We kept out voices silent.

We set our settings on mute.

And failed to socialize due to our fears.

We found comfort in our sadness.

And wanted to be punished more than anything.
