The end of death

A look into the abyss
I see my life flashing by,
A kiss for a kiss
An eye for and eye.

They ascend in the dark
Among the broken land
I went to the city,
To see a marching band

I walked in the debris
Towards a unique sound,
There was my friend
My heart began to pound.

She stood their scared and cold
Covered in razor wire and blood,
I wanted to help her
I didn’t know if I should.

Creatures appeared from the black,
Grey fur, tooth and claw
The sound was traveling nearer
I wanted to here more.

There was the parade
Shimmering gold, the darkest black
I realized what had happened
There was no going back,

We’ll carry on, and thought
Your dead and gone believe me,
Your memory will carry on
The parade made me see

It was the shadow, creeping towards me
I will get my revenge,
I will find and punish them
Until the very end.

Even though I have flat lined in the bed
The humming and bleeping is finally dead
But I’ll carry on
As the black parade said.
