Look Again

Do you want to know what I see
When I look at you?
I see the other half of me.
A man I can always look to.
So in my book, that makes you a winner.

You belong to me.
You are my life's greatest pleasure.
Listen to this desperate plea;
My love, you are not a loser by any measure.
There are so many reasons that I couldn't breathe without you.

Do you really doubt me so much
To think I'd allow a "loser" into my heart?
Don't refer to yourself as such.
Your body is the greatest piece of art.
I wouldn't change a thing about your perfection.

As for your soul, I've been looking
Looking for you all my life.
Seeking...
Searching...
And then I found you, and soon I found myself
Wanting you to call me your wife.
Since that day I've been the happiest girl on earth.

I don't know where I'd be without you.
So I'll leave you with this thought;
No matter what you think you knew
About who cares for you, just know I've sought
You my whole life, and you can forever belong with me.

I wrote this poem in response to a poem that the love of my life wrote. He didn't seem to have any idea what he was talking about when he was describing how he saw himself, hence my title "Look Again." This wasn't a poem just to make him feel better about himself, but because I love him, and wanted him to know that no matter what he thought, I'd always look at him as the most handsome man in the world.
