Hydrangea's Solemn Demise..

Planted a seed...
Nurtured it well...
With sugary strands of sunlight...
And water buckets from the well.

I hoped for a rose...
In a beautifully dark red...
With emerald-green petals,
And a scarlett crown atop its head.

Too much light,
Two small lines.
She'll be mine, and for forever...
One more time.
Two more times.
And we'll grow in love together...

Before I knew my faults, she was already wilting...
There was nothing I could do,
As my sweet flower slowly died.
She was a majestic rose, but only in my dreams...
Where a riverbed formed,
And hydrangeas cried.
