The Dirty Dozen

Glazed, crème-filled, cake
Gone is the box of donuts
Crumbs, sprinkles, gobs of icing
All that remain of a baker’s dozen.
Circular or rectangular
Brightening up my day,
One bite at a time.
Krispy Kremes and Dunkin’ Donuts
Equivalent to sunshine and rainbows
Glazed, crème-filled, cake
Lie in my stomach
At last.
