My Generation

They dumb us down
Media with it's "swag"
The things they say so sickeningly stupid
I want to gag

They say words that don't exist
Like "dis" and "dat"
Grab a dictionary "brah"
Because "I ain't down with" that!

They talk about hoes and money
Like them having either is a possibility
And "you don't need condoms when you gots swag"
Is raising the rate of fertility

When the teen pregnancy rate
Is higher than the graduation one
You know the country is failing
Maybe it's already done

The country is so vain
Obsessed with beauty and weight
Then when someone kills themselves for being "ugly"
On Society's words they hate

Society is ugly and stupid
Throwing ideas of how to be exactly the same
Each one creating more stupidity
So they will win the fame

This generation needs to learn
Not from others, but from books
Though, if I said that out loud
I'd get some deadly looks

No one understands
How doomed we all are
When people are more worried about texting
Than driving their car

I despise my generation
All idoits alike
To willingly they'll speak illiterately
Into their booming mike

Sometimes I wanna give up
But us few have to keep up the smarts
Make the world knowledgeable
And give the next generation our hearts
