Have You Ever Told the Truth?

Have you ever told the truth,even once in your life?
Have you ever stopped to think,you are lucky to be alive?
What have you done when the future is gray?
Do you say the truth,or lie and say everything's okay?

Tell me what you do,either way it'll be the same.
This is just inevitable,you have stained your name.
And even when there isn't the need of a lie,
you will say it,regret it,suffer and cry.

I know that there isn't a way to escape,
I know that the evidence isn't on tape.
It's human after all,we lied at least one time,
the lies so well formed,they form a pleasant rhyme.

Yet still,it hurts when it's to the ones you love.
See how they believe you and pray to the God above.
You hate to make them suffer,yet you inflicted the pain.
It hangs around you,the guilt's like a chain.

You suffer in silence and with a smile you walk away.
You wipe the tears that were left astray.
You learn that it hurts,but you put on a mask,
Even though it isn't an easy task.

You just go and never come back,
The guilt and misery start to attack.
You shrug it off and walk it away,
without knowing,you may lose it today.
