Scars

Razor blade scars
Are deeper than skin
They collect in the heart
And sit on the brain

They mark a time you felt lost
Were angry at yourself
And didn’t care about the cost
Of causing harm to oneself

Every scar is a memory
A physical reminder of old emotions and thoughts
They’ll never completely fade away
Even when you forget why you fought

Each one has its own secret
And story to disclose
But only with the bearer’s consent
Are they ever exposed
