Falling

The eyes close solemnly,
but I want you to follow me.

The past continues to crumble,
and the future is so humble.

There is no recompense
for the pain you dispense.

Yet I am so addicted to the hurt,
so bitterly sweet, as a tart dessert.

You will leave me in a hell
after breaking my shell,

And I will be nothing at all,
that is how you will cause my fall.

But let time slip away,
and let me hold you,
if only for a day.
