When We Aren't Together

He sat across the room with a book in his hands in artistic style

With a book in his hands he had walked into the room - like a boss

His lips stretched slowly and his dazzling eyes shrunk into an upside down smile

His adoring laugh echoed as he flipped the pages inside the classroom - a short toss! -

With hands that grazed the pages in soft grips; those heart taking hands didn’t fumble the inked sheets

He took each into consideration in a cuddle of deep breaths before sipping a kiss of his coffee

Looking up from a blissed sleep, his eyes rotated the room; taking everything piece by piece

Looking down he went back to his preferred world that possessed more than one copy

A cell phone rang alongside of him but he didn’t stressed to the sounds of his surroundings

Ignoring the facts, ignoring the students around him - ignoring me and my heart that was pounding

His glorious eyes never averted towards me, never did they creased me again like he did those pages

If only he could breathe in my direction, brush his lips through my chords like he did the air then

When I was with him, I never feared rejection since he held me with affection but my hate for his lies still rages

If he appeared again I promised myself - never again
