Pass the Finish Line

Peoples smiles were as bright as the sun,
cheering on all their loved ones.
Contestants running as fast as they can,
running, racing, and pacing was their plan.

Their smiles turned into to a frown,
once they realized what went down.
Citizens were screaming,
some of them thought they may be dreaming.

The bomb was as sudden as a strike of lighting,
glass was breaking and fire was igniting.
They thought this was the end,
but another one came before they could defend.

People laying on the ground,
While hero’s were trying to help around.
Paramedics, firefighters, and bystanders were putting their lives at danger,
a lot of them were helping even though they were strangers.

Nobody deserved to go through this,
some of them we will dearly miss.
There are no words to define,
on how much they wanted to reach the finish line.
