Check Mate

His beauty is but a bishop in my chess set
Powerful, but not overpowering
His personality would be a queen
Aside from the king, his heart,
The queen is the most important key to the game
As I destroy his pawns ( his walls),
I get to know his strategy
He took down a few of mine as well
As each knight ( his doubts) falls,
I get closer to my goal
His rooks slow me down like alligators under a bridge
I cross with carefulness
For his bishops and queen are shielding his king
I attack with ferocity
With his bishops gone , he becomes most vulnerable
As if letting me closer,
I took out his queen
With nothing but his king left,
I went for the final kill
For my goal was finally reached
His heart was now mine
