The Geography of Our Skin

my fingertips erode
away at the skin
of your
hips
like waves they just
keep coming
back to rest there
in the dips and valleys
of your pelvis

i’m like a
cartographer
mapping out the
new world
of your body
until i
know it by
heart

i
could explore you
forever and
still
find something
new every
time

and you
you are writing a
journal of my skin
in my blood
making your
own marks
and scrawling your
thoughts all
over me

and i don’t
care at all
