Not Very Impressed

I am all grown up, as it is said.
Not very impressed...I'll stay in bed.
I used to run, climb, and hide.
Others would do the same in stride.
I invisioned older to be so fun.
Under Winter Moon and Summer Sun.
Looking back, I was more alive then.
I figured it all wrong, when I was ten.
As a child, I was never alone.
As a child, I was never at home.
... I would chat, play, or hang from a tree.
My imagination was my bestie.
To be a grown-up, that was my wish.
Free, Free, free...free as a fish.
I would go see my friends, you know?
Well my friends, Where did you go?
I am free, well, free in my head.
I am all grown up, as it is said.
Being grown up is lonely you see.
My imagination is still my bestie.
I do not run, climb, or hide like a child.
All I do is let my thoughts run wild.
In one's own mind, we're not free as a bird
Prison would be a better word.
Surrounded by loved ones...still alone.
Just me, myself, and my bestie at home.
I am all grown up, as it is said.
Not very impressed...I'll stay in my head.
In my head seems where I fit in.
I can think, dream, and imagine.
Imagine...imagine...imagine!
Imagine...imagine...imagine!
Well, I imagine I am a child.
I imagine running wild.
I dream of flying so high.
I dream of being in the sky.
Dreams are all I have to keep me company.
Dreams of spending time with my family.
My wish came true. I am free as a fish.
God granted me my greatest wish.
To see my own children running wild and free.
God gave me my dreamers, my dreamers three.
They can enjoy freedom, as we all once did.
I will do my best to allow them to be a kid.
Because I know that this is their time.
Their time to be free, time after time.
My time of freedom has passed me by.
I am all alone now...alone with a sigh.
I am all grown up, as it is said.
Not very impressed...
...I think I will get dressed.
My kids will be home soon. Yay!
