Light of Life

A light burns
Bright in the dark room
The illumination is small, but the flame is strong
It sits on a lone table
That is all that is in the room
The light uncovers the dark corners and shows the story of the room
Its dreams, its hopes, its fears, its wants, and its short comings
The light is the life within the room
It burns and burns, growing shorter by the minute
The light grows dim and the flame flickers
The life has died that once lived in the room
All its deeds are no longer seen
It is gone and cannot return
