I Took a Boy to the Ocean

i took a boy to the ocean
and i taught him how to swim
i took the boy to the circus
and i taught him how to grin
i took the boy to the doorstep
and i taught him to come in
i took the boy to my lips
and i taught him to lean in
i took the boy to the bed
and i taught him the ways of skin
sadly i took this boy to my heart
but he didn't dare love me from within
