To See Your Face Again

Here I am among the living.
Ignoring the screen of another gone missing.
It won't happen to me,
I say, safe on the bay, surrounded by a sea of
friends.
The lively sea will rock and storm; a life will be
taken.

You will be stolen from my arms.

The words on the edge of your tongue.
As if you would actually say you loved me.
As if we had a lifetime to whisper in each others'
arms.

As if I could keep you here in my land of living.
In my lively sea of friends.
In the rays of my love, 'cause I love you so much.
But then you had to go.

And it's no use denying that I would be afraid of
dying.
But to see your face again.
To see your face again.

I wrote this a while ago, about the death of my friend/ex-boyfriend. Feedback is appreciated, no hate.
