Mtn Dew

It's a hot 10th of May
I haven't had a drink all day
So I take my pocket change
And for a dollar, I exchange
Mtn. Dew.
Mom and Dad always said not to drink you
But rebellion is a plate I eat from every now and then
Nothing to serious anymore, just childish little moments I allow myself every now and again
I slip into the car as I wait for my family to come out of the grocery store
I always sit in the parking lot because crowds are not tolerable material for me anymore
I unscrew your cap and hear your delicious hiss
Like aggression in humans you let yours out like this
You're so refreshing, sugar, fructose corn syrup, sodium benzoyte and all
But I think the Yellow #2 was what really made me fall
Nonetheless as I chug you down and wait, I'm glad that I found you
