Sinking Ship

Her eyes gaze at the horizon
The baby blues are filled with tears
She dreaded this would come true
The worst of all her fears

She looks at the sinking ship
Her dress heavy with salt water
She doesn't know how to tell her parents
That she's the only surviving daughter

Her dreams had warned her
But she didn't want to listen
Now she regrets it as she stands alone
And her eyes filled with tears glisten

She turns her back to the water
And looks at the island the waves sent her to
She starts crying again
She does not know what to do

She breaks down
Her dress and gravity pull her to the ground
She is crying so hard
She doesn't hear the sound

Something grabs her arms
Her feet leave the sand
She instantly wished she had died in the waters
Instead of swimming to the island

She cried out in fear
She tried to see her attackers face
When she saw the patchwork attire of a pirate
She lost all of her grace

She tried to rip her arm from his hands
She kicked and screamed with all her might
Never in her life
Has she felt so much fright

He held on pulling her into the trees
He told her to be silent in a deep, smooth voice
It was oddly calming and she fell asleep
Without much choice

She awoke from her dream
It was of the man
He was tall and handsome
With a sun-kissed tan

She looked around
Suddenly aware of her dark surroundings
The fire crackled and through it she could see his face
With that look she forgot all of the drownings

His deep green eyes caught her gaze
Her dream still fresh on her mind
She looked down and saw the bed she was on
Looking around the cabin a way out she was trying to find

He walked over to her
"I wont hurt you" he said
She sniffled
And he sat next to her on the bed

"What are you going to do to me"
She asked with a small tone
"Keep you safe" he replied
Her blue eyes in the dark shone

She knew his name was Gabriel
He knew hers was Anabelle
The second he looked into her eyes again
In love with her he fell

She loved him instantly
Didnt know how or why
But she was glad
That she didnt die

They held eachother
Leaving their pasts behind
Because their true love
They did find

A sinking ship
Brought them together
So they for their love
They thank the stormy weather
