Circus

Gather ‘round ladies, gents, and children of all ages
For the world’s greatest show
We appreciate your attendance and we welcome you to this extravaganza

If you look up you’ll notice a dainty women tossed back and forth between two men
Yes I know her work seems effortless based on the way she bends
Just next to her you’ll notice a man tip-toeing on a wire
Feel free to oo and aah at the potential for disaster
A little lower you’ll see some clowns with noses colored crimson
They’ll probably get hit with a pie or two
And you’ll laugh at their misfortune
And next to them there is a man
With his head in the mouth of a ferocious lion
You’d think he would be terrified
But his grinning face says otherwise
Next to the lion and the man there is a bear balancing on a ball
Just try to imagine the training that took place
Prior to the show

If these wondrous but nerve-racking scenes are not for you
Perhaps you should step into another tent to see some people so strange and so rare
That you won’t believe your eyes

There is of course the bearded lady who is as masculine as they come
I bet she’s friends with the 800-pound women who is equally repulsive
The world’s shortest man measuring up to a mere two feet
Is quite fond of the elastic man
Who can stretch his skin for miles
The limbless man (who can surprisingly still shave and comb his hair) knows
The three-legged man but is not envious of his endowment
The dog-faced man looks like you and I
Save for his matted tufts of hair
And he likes to spend most of his time
With his good friend, the lion-faced man
All in all—from the performers to the freaks—we’re all companions here

If you’ve had enough of these amazing acts,
Perhaps you’d like a snack
Stop by and get some cotton candy
If you’re feeling kind of sweet
Make sure to buy some peanuts for the elephants
Who I’m sure would love a treat

Unfortunately we’ve reached the end of our spectacular event
The tent must come down quickly so we can move to our next location
We’d like for you to come again but you may have obligations
Now we must bid you all ado my friends, but we hope you enjoyed the show
