The Rock

I am a rock which faces the sea
I stand alone as the waves crash upon me
I am unmoved
Solitary is me
Strong and unbending
Solid against the pounding ocean
But like the rock on the sea
I am slowly fading
As the waves slowly wear away against rock
You wear me away
Time is slowly turning
The rock into sand
Wearing down until nothing but remains
A ghost of what we used to be
I am the rock which faces the sea
You wear away at me
You wear away at me
