It Gets Better. I Promise

Have you ever wondered what it's like to live in fright?
To be to afraid to face your own plight?

Well here's to the people who backed down from fright
When they tried their best to make things right,
But all it resulted in was a a spiral of lies,
Or just common cries.

Here's to the fighters that kept their ground.
Who put on a smile instead of a frown.
The ones who fought so many wars.
The ones who'd rather hurt themselves than be ignored.

The ones who stood as tall as a tree
Because they knew all that they could be.
To the people who had courage
But not enough to show how they really felt.

To all you wonderful people it gets better I promise because
Even in outer space
When all there is, is dark matter
I want you to dry your face Because the bullies don't matter.

Step out of the fire because
you'll fly higher
So hey little fighter
Put down your handy lighter

Now give me your razor
Because you have the power of a laser.
With your mind and heart you can can burn a hole through the brick wall,
And I will always be there if you happen to fall.

The scars will stay,
but the bruises will go away
It's not tragedies in you story
Or the fact that they lacked glory
But the fact that to me you're worth it
Because to me you're also perfect.

Time fades the photo
So now you know
The photographs of misery
are now history.

Now please eat something
Because you're as mighty as a king,
Your body isn't bad
So please don't be sad
I'll dry your tears of pain
And I won't let you die in vain.

So even when it feels like the pain
has frozen over
Know that as cold as it gets the
frost will always thaw
So don't carry regrets
And forget all you saw

The visions and the voices cannot hurt you
Because all they told you wasn't true
I'll tell you what is true. The fact that I love you because you're you.

So remember
Even when all you see is darkness the sun is hours away
So you please stay and don't take your life away because you're something to me.

Always know that even in this gloomy weather it can't rain forever.
I'll always be by your side
Even when the pain and darkness resigns.

Well here's to the people who backed down from fright
When they tried their best to make things right
But all it resulted in was a a spiral of lies
Or just common cries.

Here's to the fighters that kept their ground
Who put on a smile instead of a frown
The ones who fought so many wars
The ones who'd rather hurt themselves than be ignored.

The ones who stood as tall as a tree
Because they knew all that they could be.
To the people who had courage
But not enough to show how they really felt.

Here's to those people,
Don't give up.
It gets better.
I promise.

I've seen a lot of people fighting with depression and other things. I'm a survivor of depression and I know for a fact that it gets better. Don't let anyone tell you who you are because only you know that. My best friend also suffers from self harm and depression. I showed her this first. I'd be broken if I lost her. If you're reading this I love you! Hang in there everyone. Like I said in the poem, it gets better I promise. Music helps you through things too. I like rock and metal because the lyrics speak to me. Just find something that you like and keep listing to it. I recommend this article. http://www.mibba.com/Blogs/Read/519890/Hey-you-Yes-you-I-need-you-to-read-this-RIGHT-NOW-BEFORE-YOU-DO-ANYTHING-ELSE-DO-IT/
