What Is Beauty?

What is beauty? You ignorant soul
I’m happy with my conscious, I never took a poll.
Names and titles, all so vague
Swirling farces just about tip me over the crag.

What is beauty? It’s not here, so forbid the ask
In this reflecting glass, finding meaning is a task.
Purity, serenity cannot be measured
They are not seen, yet all the while treasured.

What is beauty? Who is the beholder?
Let the self-indulgence fire smolder.
Because years beyond years no one will care
Who had their looks to share.

What is beauty? What a word.
Misconceptions paint this world, absurd.
Don’t lie to yourself, it’s the inside that matters
Because you’ll be smiling when the facetious word shatters.

What is beauty? There, in you.
You’re beautifully unique, don’t you have a clue?
I’ll be there until the very end
Because you’re just that kind of friend.

This is one I wrote a long time ago for one of my best friends, Satara. I love you to the moon and back:)
