your smile

like a spaceship soaring

so high

lifts beauty into the air.

and I see it through a mosaic of

transparent love letters I drafted

on the backs of old English quizzes.

the ones I knew the answers to.

I just wish that I could

be closer to lift off

or better yet

fly with you.
