In Death

Your smiles are fake and worthless
But still you fight to be seen
You try your hardest to be normal
But you don't even know what that means

Your kryptonite it changes
Anything can bring you down
But you keep your head above water
Just enough to breathe for now

But the weight of your insecurities
Your anxieties they cave
They're slowly pulling you under
Before you can even save face

And as the surface drifts away
Under the gallons of dread
You wish all of that guilt
Wasn't hanging over your head

Your frantic for some air
But you gulp down all your fears
It suffocates you slowly
Just like the last five years

It's then you find some sort of peace
Knowing the end is near
Your loved ones will understand
It all would have ended here

As your heart beats its last
You can't help but smile
And finally in death
Your smile is real now
