Goodbye Old Me

I stand at the peak of a snow-covered Alp,
and this one is unique because it is real.
Fake promises and let-downs plague the south...
while the north is a place where my heart can heal.

My mom taught me how to be a gentleman,
Anna taught me I need to HOLD ON to her hand,
life taught me that life can be oh so rude...
it leads you to water, but it's in the form of quicksand.

Memories, so vivid, memories, so bright...
stay with me, stay with me, all throughout the night.
I need someone to love, I need someone that cares
but they won't come near this bloody mental fight.

God lifted me up on the wings of a dove
but switched to a crow mid-flight.
He gave me a pen and paper
and He helps me do what's right.

I look to the north, the brightly-lit Eden.

It's all downhill from here.
