Alcohol-Induced Bravery

After my blood had turned to alcohol
And all my sense had scattered
Only then did it become clear to me
The things that really mattered

With liquid fire in my veins
And solid ice as my heart
The thought of staying quiet
Suddenly threatened to tear me apart

I stopped thinking of consequences
Stopped fearing what might come
I shut up my mind, let my heart take the lead
I told you, and I was done

I never waited for your reaction though
I never really had a choice
I just let the alcohol consume my brain
And fell sleep to the sound of your voice.
