Blink

Don't blink, or you'll miss it darling
You'll miss how the sky darkens and the moon rises
How the stars glow as they stare down at us
And how we play "Connect the Dots" with our canvas of a sky

Blink, darling, and all you see is sorrow
Your sad symphony of destruction and the orchestra of your pain
Your memories will pass over you in no time, my sweet dear
As they say, you can't have a rainbow without a little rain

Blink, my sweet, and you'll want madness
The sight of the razor, the scent of your own blood
Your small blade to your fragile wrist would be the last thing you see
As your vision blurs with your tears, here begins the flood

I blinked, and I missed you
As my eyes fall on your small fragile body, void of life
I can only wonder as to why you would do this, my love
I can only imagine the kind of people who would bring you this strife

Blink, and you'll miss me.

I personally believe I could have done so much better with this, but sadly I couldn't. I haven't written a poem since the beginning of 2012, when I wrote that poem for my former teacher who passed away. This is a poem about a person who had lost their lover to suicide... (more or less ;^; )
