Prison

I press my palms against the walls around me
Four strong and close, cold and dark walls
They suffocate me

I cannot see the ceiling
Nor anything else
Not even my hand in front of my face
Is visible

The walls are so cold
They breathe a freezing mist
Tendrils wind their way like vines
Entangling me within a web
The biting chill penetrates to my core

Frostbitten toes
Debilitated limbs
Numb fingers
I shiver

There is nothing I can do
I am trapped
Inside these four walls
They are a prison

I see no way out
The walls are smooth
I know I am going to die
I can accept that fact

But I am
Afraid
To die
