A Poem for the Lonely

A day where you look around at the smiles and the joy,
And wish that you could spend it with your own special boy.
Even single friends like you have their own soul to squeeze,
And every year you find yourself without even one of these.
The one who’s on your mind has his own to think about
And it tortures you when it’s not you and makes you want to shout.
Though your friends try to ease the pain with a card or a flower,
It doesn’t make it easier to pass through every hour
Of other girls who can’t help but constantly spieling
And you wishing to know what it’s like to experience that feeling.
And so you’re left with no one special waiting there to say,
"Here’s a flower, here’s a kiss, and Happy Valentine’s Day."
