Dying Hope

In her hand she holds a single rose
The last tie she has to him
It's beauty will die soon
In a matter of minutes
Dying, withering up
She watches it as the leaves scrunch up,
Too delicate to even touch,
She thinks of him then
Giving her the flower as a sign of his love
But alas, he's gone, and won't return anytime soon
So now, it's time to move on
Forget the past, move on to the future
It's what he would have wanted
It's what would have been best
