Fear of What's Inside

There is a reason why I'm here,
I can see it in your eyes,
I'm here to die.

I'm sorry! I'm not who I use to be.
It's been decades since I dug my own grave.

You think I'm a disgrace,
And you want me out of your face.

We're prisoners of our own skin,
We have nightmares running through our heads.

We're fighting to stay alive,
People are dying they can't survive.

You locked us away,
And threw away the key.

This is a place where all the monsters come out to play.

We can't escape what we put to place,
Now we have to watch it play,
We have to lay in our own graves.

We did the sins now we have to pay for them.

Get outta my face,
Your a disgrace,
That's all we hear now a days.

Someone pull us out of this place,
It's to evil, to dark for my taste.

I lay awake hearing screams,
I can feel things crawling on me.

Why are you punishing everybody?
I'm the one who walked away from this life.

Kill me! If it sets everyone free,
Then kill me for my deeds.

I'm the one who made the promise to stay by your side,
I'm the one who betrayed you,
I couldn't be that evil being.

The killing, the cold eyes, the fear of what's inside,
I tried to be the monster you wanted me to be,
I couldn't survive.

The blood, the pain, the tears in their eyes was to much to bare.
I'll be anything but a monster to those who did no wrong.

Why are you filled with hatred?
I helped you get revenge on the ones who gave you those scars.

The powers are going to your head,
Kill me! If it sets everyone free,
I can't listen to their screams.

You and I are prisoners of our own skin,
I took the path of freedom,
You stayed and destroyed yourself.

In the end, death took us both.
