Let's Take a Drive

We rode on the highway
in between cars we stayed
neither of us knew where we were going
we just knew we couldn't stay
the radio plays softly below our laughs and snores
cars honking, trucks grunting, a calming mixture
when we ran out of gas we pushed it up that hill
remember laughing when I tripped and fell
When the road came to an end we never said goodbye
The memories we made then
