Jumper

As I look at the world
from a bird's eye view
I can't but think
of anything but you.
I wonder why I stepped on the edge,
just to to try to jump over the ledge.
I know I shouldn't, I'm stupid like they say.
They say we overreact, but so do they.
So as I draw in
all of the scenery,
I wish you were here
standing beside me.
Although you would scream,
and as it pains me to do so,
I should have to walk away
onto an air stage.
And on this stage shall I recite a silique,
An ode to joy, and an ode to forgiviness.
I am a rational man, with rational thoughts.
I know what I'm doing, although you do not.
So as I wave good bye, and kiss you one last time,
My only wish is your happy. I am, for you were mine.
And I jump.
