The Heart and the Brain

It’s a weird kind of thing
When your heart feels unsure
Like there’s some sort of odd mixture
Of emotions fighting for dominance
And your heart can’t decide what to feel
It makes you uncomfortable
And doesn’t sit quite right in your tummy

Your heart needs help
So it brings in the brain
But the brain is logical
Not emotional
So it’s not much help at all
But it tries its hardest
To find a solution

And that’s what counts
In the end
Not the success
But the attempt
The fact that they gave it their all
Makes them best friends
Through and through
