Left Without a Goodbye

So many years,
They flew by,
Her heart cries,
So silently that you’d never know why.

Than pain was like a knife to the stomach,
It grew dull,
Like a throbbing headache.
In the back of her mind,
The pain is still there.
Hidden behind defiance.

The pain doesn’t ache or throb,
It is shallow.
Like a white cloud,
It floats.

It comes out at night,
Like a bear coming out of hibernation.

The pain still there.
She never knows why;
Cause every night she used to cry
But now her eyes are dry and her smile is wide.

She’d like to know why you left so suddenly.
Especially without a goodbye.
