Born to Leave Early

I used to watch trough your window,
Enjoy the life I saw in you.
When you turned your head you didnt see me,
I was invisible; a shadow.
Soon to be gone.
I know your sad secrets.
The bloody and painful story.
You thought covering bruises would be better.
It'll never heal them.
I have packed my bags because the time has come.
I took a picture of you to take with me to the unknown.
You might not know all the things I have done,
But that's okay.
One day you'll notice.
Maybe smile.
You were so young when I left.
I took the body of a child.
I had to be innocent.
I did what I was sent to do.
It took me longer,
I fell desperately in love with you.
I chose the longer, harder ways.
Made mistakes.
On rocks I planted my trees to carry them water.
Now this is the day.
There comes my train,
Ready to take me into your dreams.
I was born to leave early.
