Contradictions and Love in Hindsight

My soul reaches for you,
Dragging its limbs across oceans and waves of grief just to touch you in the simplest of fashions.
Your blood nourishes my flushed skin,
Mixing spots of color with the black envelope that encircles my vision.
While my flesh waits to be broken in,
My very being is ravaged by your gaze on my contradictory pure skin.
I tremble under the hands of time and chances,
Released only by the love that flows from your lips to my eager ears.
I am your young creation from your imagination,
Dancing in circles inside your mind.
You are the protective angel from my dreams,
Enclosing my world in your flaming sight.
Take me once and take me twice,
We will both be home by midnight,
Together and alone,
But never further than the sound of our bells,
Like kittens with alarms for the mice.
We scare the demons to hell,
But keep the ones that fill our appetites.
Angelic and satanic,
Bloodlust and lovelust.
Not so simply,
You and I.
