Million Miles Away

I remember how we used to talk.
Those things didn't really matter.
You were the guide; I was the lost one
You told me which way to walk.
"Pictures are fragile",
I heard you say.
They can get lost, burned or taken away.
Confused faces look back at me in those albums.
I forgot their names.
All I needed to see was you.
Not those places.
Now you have chosen your train,
But you left me.
Waiting.
Standing in the cold rain.
Life seems hopeless as it's so dark.
But then trough the noise I hear a distant voice.
"Memories are strong."
And I realise you had to go.
It wasn't your choice.
I just couldnt tag along,
As I still was meant to live this kind of life.
Do we ever see again,
Talk and laugh,
Its hard to say.
Impossible.
The past is gone,
Not part of this day.
But I'll always remember.
Even a million miles away.
