Hidden Fray

At the brink of night,
Hiding from the light,
Drowning in misery’s sight,
She’s not going to be all right.

A suffering girl trapped in life’s cage,
In a hateful time and age.
A blade’s bloody story page,
Mutilation in life’s endless rage.

Eating is misleading,
Insecurities are impeding,
This young girl is pleading,
But the world is misreading.

Sadness is a crimson stained blade.
She’s left frazzled and frayed.
She was horrified with how much she weighed,
Just as her silent actions portrayed.

Love wasn’t a trend,
It was just around the bend.
She wasn’t going to pretend,
But she didn’t know how it would end.
