The War of Immigrants
A born American
Met an undocumented immigrant &
A confrontation soon ensued.
The American said:
"This will not last,
I claim a right to live on my land and
I accord you the privilege to return to yours ".
The Immigrant said,
"Just move over there
and I will satisfy myself
With this small spot where I now stand".
Thus the American ( Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Tribe)
and the Immigrant ( White European Settler )
Began their uneasy coexistence.
The students of American History know how that turned out.
