The Truth

Now I know the truth.
Everything is clear.
As I'm leaving behind much of my youth,
I realize how much I have to fear.
The days have all been cold.
Their hearts all turn to stone.
Out of all the lies that's been told,
The most disappointing is my own.
My heart is beating fast.
The truth is coming out.
Even after all the bad in my past,
I've finally learned what love is all about.
I've hidden in silence,
but now I live out loud.
I laugh at the suspense,
and the unsuspecting crowd.
They really thought they new me.
But now the tables have turned.
They didn't know what I could be,
and all the truth I have learned.
So here's to my future,
much brighter than my past.
And here's to the memories,
That I have surpassed.
