Lost Mind

My mind is farther then it's ever been
Will you hold me close like when
You promised me in days of splendored gold

My eyes seem to have sunken in
And I can't even try to pretend
That I can see our love as it was before

I feel empty in this saddened state
My heart it seems to slowly ache
But not because of the absence of you

It's more a ache of what we had
The late night kisses and bubble baths
That made us hold our souls out like the truth

It's over now
The kisses gone and the bath water is clear and cold
There's not much more I could ever say

So I take a few crumbs and some yarn
To chart out a course I once was on
To find my mind that is so far away
