Corners

The road is long and my heart beats faster.
it's silent inside,
but my mind finds itself outside,
in a world with you.
I stand so close,
yet barely being able to touch.

To touch a world weighing on my mind,
is to touch gold.
The corners fade into dust,
like a meaningless memory from a past.
When reality returns I find I haven't left.

The corners stand solid.
I see your face yet do I dare smile?
Do I dare blush?
Yes I do.

My face warms unknowingly,
and my breath shortens.
I stare still and silently until you see,
then I look away wishing that I hadn't.

I will remain in your sight,
but not entirely.
You cannot see the corners.
The corners that stand and fade.
