For My Friend RIP

The memories flash within my mind,
The times we laughed, the times I cried,
Your smile when it touched your eyes,
The face you pulled when you had lied.

Then one day all that was gone,
Just memories up upon my wall,
I grieved your death, I cried my tears,
But nothing really helped at all.

Still today, after all this time,
I miss you more and more,
I visit your grave, I talk to you,
I even keep to what we swore.

A candle I light to honour your name,
A prayer to keep you safe and sound,
A letter I burn to set my thoughts free,
A kiss to the stars because I know you’re around.

Rest in peace my angel,
Watch over me from above,
I love you even more, not less,
I hope you have peace just like a dove.

You’re never gone, not far away,
You reside within my heart,
But every sunset and sunrise,
Is another day apart.
