Death

Death rises up like the full moon in the night,
lighting up the darkness and gifting us with sight.
We go to sleep and don't wake up,
we've gone away into the light.

Like the wolf, we fear its coming...
the day when our hearts can no longer sing,
when love is trampled into the dust
and when the eagle is born with only one wing.

It's the friend of the hurting,
but the enemy of the dead.

It's coming soon...years count down fast.

When it comes, screaming and crying will abound
while those that know the truth will hardly make a sound.
Don't hate it, don't fear it...
just welcome it, the maximum amount allowed
by society.

I'm not afraid because I know someone
that gave their life so I don't have to run.
He suffered unspeakable pain and unendurable hate
for me. And you. And everyone else alive under His sun...

Jesus.

He loves those who only hate him, call them "haters"...
they're just ignorant, they prefer news to be the worst.
He strides through hate on a firm cloud of righteousness...
the only one who really, truly loves you back.

“When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.”

- Psalm 146:4-5
